  • Graphics Driver patch - (gdi6.exe (118KB) expands to gdi6.hdi 224 KB) Some AutoCAD 2000 users have experienced fatal errors that crash AutoCADwhen performing plot-related operations. These errors most typically occur while using the Plot and Plot Preview dialog boxes, when switching layouts, and when toggling between model space and paper space. The problem occurs when printing to certain Windows system printer drivers. If you are experiencing fatal errors when plotting to Windows system printer devices you can correct the problem by downloading an updated version of the gdi6.hdi driver.

  • A2000 DXB plotter driver  - (66KB) expand this file into the A2000\DRV sub-directory and cnofigure a new plotter with "My Computer" option and select the DXB option.

  • Plotting from Model Space - some detailed instruction in zipped word format. Download 25 KB

  • Plot stamping - missing the auomatic plot filename/date-time stamping from previous releases of AutoCAD where the ADI driver did it for you?  PLOTSTAMP adds the specified plot stamp information – including drawing name, layout name, date and time, and so on – to a drawing that is plotted to any device. Once you turn plot stamping on, it remains active with whatever settings have been most recently entered until you specifically turn it off. AutoCAD creates a plot stamp at the time the drawing is being plotted; the plot stamp is not saved with the drawing. Before you plot the drawing, you can preview the position of the plot stamp in the Plot Stamp dialog box (not in the AutoCAD® drawing area or in the plot preview). The plot stamp you create is justified on one of the four drawing corners and can be forced to print on either one or two lines. You can also choose to record the plot stamp information to a log file. Download plotstmp.zip (49 KB) which contains an ARX file defining the new command and an associated Help file.

  • Plotting Update- (3.1 MB) Autodesk has released an update to the plotter drivers for AutoCAD 2000, AutoCAD Mechanical 2000, Mechanical Desktop 4, AutoCAD Architectural Desktop(tm) 2, AutoCAD Map 2000, AutoCAD LT 2000, and AutoCAD OEM 2000-based applications. In conjunction with our hardware partners, Hewlett Packard, Oce, and Xerox. This update is to address customer issues with all the plotter drivers that shipped with AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD 2000-based products. In respect to our continuing efforts to support Microsoft(r) Windows 2000 Professional, this update also addresses a problem where AutoCAD 2000 plotting is disabled in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional. The following lists some of the important improvements the AutoCAD 2000 Plotting Update patch provides:

    * Additional support for over 30 CalComp(tm) plotter models
    * Support for the AutoCAD DXB file format
    * Added Raster and Merge Lines support for the Hewlett Packard LaserJet printer
    * Added support for A3, B4, and B5 paper for all HP-GL/2 devices, including the Hewlett Packard LaserJet printers

  • Express Tools Update -(5 MB) The good news is that AutoCAD 2000 users can now download AutoCAD Express Tools 2000, which contains free AutoCAD 2000 versions of volumes 1-6 of the AutoCAD Release 14 Express Tools. The bad news is that the Release 14 versions are no longer available. AutoCAD R14 

  • Visual Lisp - Demo version (1/7/98) free download which runs until 31/12/98 for R14 - (4.9MB) a new Windows-based environment for Lisp creation similar to Visual Basic/VBA. Electronic manual (500 pages) download (2.6MB) pdf file - you need Acrobat to view and print. This download changed from preview version 1/7/98 

  • R14 + Digitiser fix - (450KB) - corrects problem of R14 + digitiser sessions not releasing their resources when shut down. R14 "appears" to shut down, but NT still uses lots of RAM. Particularly apparent for multiple R14 sessions. 

  • Multiple CPU fix - 25KB) fixes problems with multiple CPU's and R14 which otherwise shows up as intermittent errors either during an AutoCAD session or at start-up. (see readme). 

  • R14 plotter driver update ( 562 KB) - R14 updates to AutoCAD plotter drivers at 5/98.

  • R14 ArcText patch (40 KB) - fixes several bugs - copy arctext.arx over the top of existing file in ...\bonus\cadtools 

  • R14 Popup bonus rouitine patch (22 KB) fixes several bugs - copy popup.arx over the top of existing file 

  • R14 TextMask patch - fixes "misplaced dot" error message. Contains new version of textmask.lsp.

  • R14 Getsel.zip - (5KB) - fixes quirks and makes improvements in getsel.lsp which is the code for the bonus routine "Get Selection Set"

LT98    - If you are using Internet Explorer V5 you will probably have trouble with the Help system not displaying correctly. Send an email to technical@cd-cad.co.nz with a request to be emailed the 2.6 MB replacement help file.

  • Disk Testing Software - (1.9 MB) 10/2001 from IBM - can test SCSI and IDE drives, Run this program from windows to create bootable floppy. Boot from this floppy and follow the menu options. Great product.

  • Handy ICO, BMP, WMF Viewer (14KB) - can run with filename on the command line or with filename association. 

  • Adaptec SCSI 78xx Driver Update for NT4 (44KB) From Control Panel, pick SCSI Icon, then Driver tab, then Add and Replace 

  • Whip Driver for Netscape & Internet Explorer - ( 3.5 MB) a plug-in which lets you view and print DWF files with your browser. DWF files are compact and can be created by R14 onwards. Version 4. 

  • Whip driver - updated for A2002 - at AutoDesk.

  • WinZIP - (700 KB) demo version of "magic" program "WinZIP", to handle easy zipping and unzipping of files (V6.3). Evaluation version 7 now available at http://www.winzip.com/download.cgi

  • Volo Express - The free viewer for DWG, DXF™, and DWF data lets you share your designs easily.  

  • Humour - yep real fun 29KB.

  • Explore ? With AutoCAD (not LT) you can open Windows Explorer directly in the folder where your current drawing is. Cut and paste the following code and save as "explore.lsp". Use "appload" from inside AutoCAD to add explore.lsp to your startup suite. Then with a drawing open type "explore <E>".   • draPRO -(fill in the form to have it emailed to you) demo slideshow (3.6 MB) - a great series of AutoCAD add-on products for high productivity 2D draughting for Mechanical Services, Electrical Design, Fire Protection, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Workshops services. Needs Windows at 1024 x 768 or better. Download, Expand the files by running drapro1.exe and viewing README.TXT. Includes several screencam videos where you see the code actually running. 

  • Plate n' Sheet Development - (250KB) Demo version for AutoCAD R13/R14. This version will create the geometry, but is cannot be saved or plotted. 

  • StrucPLUS demo (2.2 MB) - Demo of Struc-PLUS which is a slick enhanced 2D draughting system for structural steel building work. Designed for NZ conditions by a NZ'er.
